Hey guys. Me and a few others have been working on identifying Bloomingdale's latest to be: Fire dispatch on...YEP DMR....

Don't ask me why...or how. But it caught our attention listening to the dispatch the last week or so. One of us also caught on a scanner the dispatch in DMR mode(sounded horrible, BTW-tones and voice went OTA). You can hear on their lowband dispatch an XPR DMR Talk-Permit-Tone(TPT). We got to digging, and what we found is on 453.1875, their WPEY525(fire) license, appears to be their FB2 new? Dispatch. This is purely speculation so far, but we are looking at it.

Assuming now that PD is fully transferred over, and Pompton and Butler are all also on-board with their DMR(on PD side) they decided to focus on their fire.

So far, appears the dispatch tones are still being simulcasted on both lowband analog, and this UHF DMR frequency.

We also believe it is using RAS(smells like Pequannock-PD/FD/DPW RAS). If anyone else wants to jump in and see what they find, that would be terrific.

Looking to confirm the TS and CC as well.

Looking to confirm if there is perhaps another IPSC site: one for fire, separate from PD. Or if this/other frequency on the license is conventional only, and standalone(not a part of any IPSC, or other simulcast).

Thanks guys,

Nick

They have been on DMR IPSC for about a year now

@GTR8000
For what it's worth, it's their OEM repeater but it's used for SAR and FD response. Not sure if that's worth fixing or not.

Crap, looks like I have some updates to make.

I am unsure if fire has moved fully to DMR. As I don’t listen to them, besides their dispatch. Which last I was aware was still 46.42 110.9 with simulcast. This is for the initial dispatch tones.

PD have been DMR for a good while now(all is the same).

They have not. They are still working on a solution. But there is a DMR with RAS frequency that seems to multicast with their 46.42 paging frequency. A TRBO TPT is also heard whenever they are dispatched which confirms my suspicions that it is them. Potential upcoming DMR paging repeater perhaps?

But there is a DMR with RAS frequency

Need to work on nailing down the frequency for sure, and if there is a TG associated with it. Any word on if this is a Conventional Networked system, or IPSC system separate from PD. Or just conventional?
