Blue Angels on Deck at Selfridge

They were up today, the freq was 275.35 am.
The boss spoke of wheels up at 0630 maybe an
early practice.

Cant Go this weekend, hurt at work will be listening
anybody at the show please post active freqs if you can

Was at the air show yesterday, the Blue Angels are awsome..That was a very good airshow..The Air Boss was on 128.700 on Saturday..123.150 was the descrete channel..The Blue Angels were using 284.250..

I was also at the show yesterday and the only freq I heard the Blue Angels on was 284.250 and the air boss on 128.700. It was really interesting listening to how the leader calls the shots when in formation (for those of you that listened you know what I mean). Its definately the most unique MilCom I've ever monitored. I thought I would have seen people with scanners out there but I didn't see one!

You weren't the one I talked to who had the Pro-97 was ya?? I can't remember what the descrete channel was for I just remember that the air boss said to switch to the descrete channl and the pilot said what was the frequency again, it was in the middle of the show it was very active though..

The discrete channel is usually used during air shows for anything not directly pertaining to the show Air Boss' "control" activities. Can be used for plane-2-plane coordination, "live" public address commentary from/to a pilot, "up-link" of a musical track to a performer (I've heard this a bunch with gliders/sailplanes), etc.

Some teams have their own discrete freqs - AM aero or FM business/GMRS/FRS - but there's usually a show-wide discrete AM aero frequency, and this is likely what scannermandan was listening to.
