I thought a blue angel required nothing more than a pack of matches and a large pork and beans lunch mixed with the willingness to experiment.

Blues and Tbirds are back up and flying and have a full schedule.. their season starts at the end of the month I believe..

Probably listening to the local ATC frequencies. Most likely monitoring for ATC advising other aircraft about the airshow and telling them to deviate from their present heading in order to avoid a conflict. Just a guess on my part.
