The 19th Annual Blue Ridge BBQ Festival will take place this weekend in Tryon at Harmon Field. The hours are 11am-11pm on Friday, and 10am-11pm on Saturday. Free admission from 11-2 on Friday and children under 12 are free all weekend with an adult.
Tryon Police & Fire will be supplemented with Polk Co. Emergency Services, Polk Co. Rescue Squad, NC Highway Patrol, local FDs, Polk Co. Sheriff's Office and local law enforcement. Law enforcement will be using the National Law Enforcement Common channel - 155.475. FD/EMS/Rescue will be using the county fire scene channel 3 - 153.785, and will be utilizing VTAC1 as a secondary channel - 151.1375. Incident commanders & the command post will have access to the Polk Co. TGs on VIPER and can use for communication with the NCSHP.
Festival personnel will be using (as memory serves, I'll know better the day of) the Motorola Talkabout radios with FRS channels. They use these for coordination during the event - ice delivery, trash pickup, volunteers, security, admin, and contact with the Command Post.
