Hi

Has anyone got a Bluetooth adapter working with the TRX-1?
I am using a Trond Bluetooth Tx/Rx adapter but can’t get any audio from the TRX-1 headphone socket.

Thanks in advanced

According to the TRX1 user manual, the headphone jack is a 3.5mm Stereo jack. The cable plug tip should have 2 black stripes on it as shown in the picture. If it has only one it is monaural and will not work. ay03000-03-thumbnail-1080x1080-70.jpg

It's not rocket science, you need to make sure under advanced tab in ezscan that IF audio option is turned off and get that setting into the scanner or use the keypad for that setting.

From there you have to make sure you blutooth adapter and head phones are charged.

Next and this is probably your problem...you need to make sure the 2 are PAIRED...put the transmitter in pairing mode (see the directions) and at the same time put the headphones in pairing mode. The lights will typically flash fast until paired or the head phones may actually say Pairing and paired,

I am using exactly the same lead as shown in the above picture, and yes both the bluetooth adapter and speaker are paired and work without any problems on another type of radio.

Has anybody got this to work successfully?

Thanks

That is a stereo 3.5mm jack... the scanner may not like that one...get a mono adapter.

I actually own a TRX-1 scanner and tested the following:
1. Using the keypad go into Main Menu > Program Menu > Global Settings > scroll down to IF Out: and choose "HP" = Head Phones. If set to "Off" no audio will go out of the headphone jack, regardless of what plug you use. Also, remember to save the new setting. Basically, hit the "Menu" button after choosing "HP" and it will go to the next screen where you press the "SEL" button to confirm yes on the change.
2. After setting that to HP, I can confirm that three different plugs will work:
a. Mono earplug
b. Stereo headphones
c. Even a pair of iPhone earbuds work with the extra contact for a mic.

Have fun with your BT adapter!
