Morning,
Hope this isn't a stupid question - If I use a BNC "T" piece connector to connect 2 small lengths of coax , do I just leave the "3rd" arm blank and not connected to anything ?
I know it's probably a stupid question , but just wanted to check !!!
Thanks in advance,

Hi W3JMC,
Basically the coax from my antenna is too short (pumped the mast up higher !!)
I have an additional length of coax with bnc plugs already fitted so I want to join that to the existing antenna coax so it will then reach my radio !!!
Hope that makes sense ? BTW its for receive only.
Thanks

Leaving a port open on the T connector can lead to signal ingress, which may negatively affect your signal. Better to use a female to female barrel connector, or to put a 50 ohm BNC terminator on the open port. Either of those can usually be found pretty cheap, probably even in the UK. Of course the best thing to do would be to replace the coax with one that is long enough from antenna to receiver, but obviously that's not always practical or cost effective.
