BNC Connectors Wearing Down

Is there some sort of Uniden Life Hack to fix the BNC connections wearing down? It makes the antenna incredibly loose and wobbly, and I worry that it's affecting my reception. Thanks

Shouldn't effect your reception. It's just the nature of the beast. You take your antenna on and off enough then it will wear. That's why SMA is a great idea, you can use adapters.

A lot of people I knew put a male BNC to female adaptor on their scanners to make the BNC on the radio live longer.

I have replaced BNC on a couple scanners, with a higher quality one.

If you're running a base station, use a discone antenna so you don't have to constantly switch antennas. For handhelds, change the SMA-BNC adapter then the BNC side starts having connection issues.
