I have several feeds I provide for Broadcastify. Some of my feeds will occasionally show HUNDREDS of listeners, which I know is not correct. For example, the attached screenshot shows one of my feeds which averages around 5-10 listeners per day. However, you can see it is showing 73 listeners using Internet Explorer, which doesn't seem likely. Furthermore, I have seen this happen several times on this feed, and at one time it showed over 1000 listeners, which is next to impossible for this feed. On the feed statistics page it shows the "high listeners" to be 1041, which occurred during one of these periods of time where the listener count just shot up with no warning and for no apparent reason.

Any idea what causes this?

Thanks,

Chuck

I guess it doesn't hurt anything ... except for those times it makes my tiny rural feeds jump to the top of the list on Broadcastify :)

Maybe the Broadcastify servers could limit the number of incoming connections from a single IP to say, 10 or 20? On desktop clients you could also use captcha to slow them down. Just thinking out loud ....
