BOLINGBROOK, Ill. -- Bolingbrook will pay almost $1 million to convert its emergency police and fire radio system to a more reliable network, according to an agreement approved by trustees at Tuesday’s Village Board meeting.

The current system uses T-1 lines who have failed in the past. They are converting the remote recieve sites to microwave links.

Weird, I could have sworn Bolingbrook had been using the Will County EDACS system. I was up there visiting family a couple of years ago and monitored a few local agencies. Guess whoever I was hearing wasn't them. Wonder if they'll end up on Starcom21 or get a standalone setup.

Is Bolingbrook PD still utilizing the 107.2pl tone or has it been changed since the new VHF communications system upgrade?
