I was looking through the data base and saw a listing for the Department of Motor Vehicles under CC&PS.
The Department of Motor Vehicles has not been around since Jim Hunt's first term when he needed a
job for Phil Carlton. He had the GA create the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety and
moved NCSHP from the Department of Motor Vehicles to the new CC&PS, along with some other
agencies, so Phil would have a job until he got a judgeship.

The Department of Motor Vehicles became the Division of Motor Vehicles in the DOT.
License and Theft Section, later Theft Enforcement Section, then Enforcement Section
and now License and Theft Bureau, uses
the frequencies VHF Low Band frequencies cited in the data base as Department of Motor Vehicles under
CC&PS. There may be some confusion from when the uniformed officers
(process, weigh and MCIs) moved to NCSHP. A lotta folks think the whole section moved.

The listing should be in the Other Agencies section under DOT, Division of Motor Vehicles.

For info to be corrected it needs to be submitted through the
proper channels.

At the top of each and every page here at RR.com there is this
magic button:

RRsubmitinfo.JPG

Submit the correction/modification through the proper channels and
it will get taken care of. :)
This is for everyone. Just posting a note in the forums ain't gonna
cut it. We have to have the info in the submission engine.
Thanks!

I tried that and it would not let me log in with the name and password I use here. That is why I thought you would see it here, Marshall.
I thought you were the proper channel. I'll try again.

Let me know if you still have issues but once
you are logged into the forums you shouldn't have to log
in again to submit info.
The main point of using the submission engine is so that
ALL NC database admins see the submissions. :)
Thanks for understanding and thanks for helping
to make sure the database stays as accurate as
possible!

You are wrong!

The Division of Motor Vehicles is still a State Agency.

The Weight Division has been merged into the Highway Patrol, but License and Theft are still under DOT and the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Look umder the following web site and you will find a listing for DMV. DMV is always taking applications for Law Enforcement Agents.

David, if you're referring to me, I'm NOT wrong and you can take that to the bank!

Your posting does not make a heap of sense, not only the weigh officers, but the process and
MCIs (all the uniform guys) went to the HP. I lived through what I put in my posting, probably while you were
entertaining yourself in the yard at what ever prison you were in.

BTW, did I mention that I'm a retired Inspector. Understand a post before
you tell someone they're wrong, a lotta folks resent the hell out of that, me included.

Oh, and, BTW, when you learn to read, you'll understand that I didn't say that DMV was not a state agency, I said that it is in DOT, NOT CC&PS where the data base has it residing.

Let's take a deep breath and relax.
Its a Monday and I have not had
enough coffee yet so let's try to
get along. Discussions can be had
without personal comments.
Thanks and have a good Day!

Geez, is that not what he said?

License and Theft is DMV under DOT
Motor Carrier is part of NCSHP under CCPS....

I think we're all on the same page here so chill-ax
