I'm from the st. cloud area and I guess yesterday, along with a major accident in town, the Bloomington Bomb Squad was called out for some blasting caps that some guy found in his rafters. Anyone know the id's for this group or any swat teams in the cities? Having a tough time finding them. Thanks.

Adam,

I haven't been able to identify anything like you're looking for either. However, I did snag one talkgroup that wasn't in the database the last time I checked - 3308. I have marked in the tag "bomb squad?" because I must have thought I heard something like bomb squad activitiy. Since then, I have heard things on it that aren't apparantly bomb squad related. I'm anxious to see if someone else comes forward with anything. -Bruce

I'd guess most bomb squad and SWAT communications would be encrypted. I do know that Anoka Co. SWAT uses TG 890, but it is usually encrypted. I have heard non-encrypted traffic on that TG that sounded like training.

Not sure what you heard on 3308, but I'd guess it has something to do with Metro Transit. 3302, 3304, and 3306 are used by Metro Transit for Light Rail.

EDIT: 3308 is listed in the MN Metroscan database as Light Rail Supervisors. http://www.geocities.com/mn_metroscan/800mhz_met_council.htm

Just an update...890 was in use today during the McCain/Palin visit to Blaine. As usual, it was encrypted.
