BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Boot time

My 396T starts scanning about 3 seconds after the power on beep. Does the 436 power up and pickup from where you left off, or does it load/program the radio each time from the micro-sd?

It loads from the SD card. I have about everything within 75 miles of me (or more) loaded and it takes about 20 seconds to load. If I cut that down to about 25 miles, it takes maybe 5 seconds.

So if I defined some Favorites that match pretty much what I listen to now on my 396, I could have it skip National all together and just load those on boot? Five seconds is reasonable, and the first thing I'd do to the unit would be to install a class 10 sd card.

Exactly. I rarely use the Main dB and have it disabled so it doesn't load.
