Border Patrol Question

[BT]

I found a frequency, 163.625, which is listed as Border Patrol. I plugged it into the radio and it's pretty active, in fact I'm listening to them checking out some suspicious persons right now. Anyway, I thought BP was on the state system. Is this a patch? It is a P-25 signal. I'm happy either way, I've only been looking for them for the past 3 years!

yes 163.625 thru 163.775 are the main Border Patrol freqs,
at least on the southern border.

I have heard Border Patrol on the state system (MPSCS) when visiting the Soo area. It didn't sound like a simulcast, but it also was infrequent and I got the impression their main radio traffic occurred elsewhere. I did not check any of their usual analog freqs though.
