So I programmed in all the radio reference freqs for Bossier City and parish. I'm not getting ANY activity, though. I'm getting tx's from waay out in Caddo and have picked up a few skywarn tx's from Bossier but have heard NOTHING on the freqs I got from radio reference. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong???

You are trying to listen to the 800 trunked system....correct?

Yeah, I figured it out, I think. I didn't have the city trunked freqs in. When I plugged them in and locked out my other banks and just listened to Bossier, I got a lot more traffic. I still don't seem to hear much if any fire/ems activity, though.

Okay, never mind on the fire/ems. I am hearing activity now. I guess Bossier just isn't as wild as Shreveport!!!!

Bossier City, "wild", LOL!

Well,

I wouldn't say Bossier City isn't "wild". They have a no-nonsense police force. If you listen closely,
you'll hear a LOT of 10-90's ..traffic stop and later "ticket", meaning someone got a QSL card to
come to court, LOL! They write tickets for ANYTHING. If you have an air-freshner hanging from
your mirror..."ticket", for blocking your 'view'. And you thought Barney Fife was anal-retentive?

As for the fire calls and ems calls, they use a different talk groups. 8368 is dispatch and 8400 is
scene. You also might try listening to 155.67 mhz. That's another dispatch frequency for the EMS
crews.

Respectfully submitted,
