Yes, they changed recently over to DPLs with their updated system. The ones on BFR are correct.

yup
That is a very strange list of BFD channels.

1. The 486 channels are apparently the same as the inputs to the "District Repeaters".

2. Channel 5 does not look right. I dont think that 453.65 is in the portable radios nor the mobile radios.

3. The "District Repeaters" would probably get severe interference by any use of Ch 1/2/3/4.

4. Maybe this is a proposed channel list for an arson team or something.

I think what Kenny is talking about is not the change from PL to DPL, but BFD has re-allocated Ch.06 and up for NEW District Repeaters vs using them as Simplex Tactical.

This was only recently posted to the BFDradio.NET and likley won't get changed in the RRDB, since the RRDB is supposed to be for CONFIRMED ACTUAL IN-USE information and none of us have heard the new channels yet.

Channel 5 has been called Channel 5, since the VHF Days [Low Band and High Band] when Boston primarily used 33 Mhz and 153 Mhz

Being called a channel # or name, doesn't mean it has to be in every radio

BPD had channels into the 20's and 30's [based on what was in the Console] in years past

That is a very strange list of BFD channels.

1) What is (and for a long time has been) known as BFD Ch. 5 is a one-way RF-based station alerting system. The only radio that transmits on this frequency is the one controlled by Fire Alarm.

2) The Ch. 6 through Ch. 10 repeaters are normally disabled and would have to be enabled by Fire Alarm before being employed for operations. The question of adjacent channel interference would be taken into account in making the such a decision.

3) The simplex Ch. 11 through Ch. 15 use different tones than are assigned to the inputs for the Ch. 6 through Ch. 10 repeaters.
