Boston MA cop gets 18 years for using his radio to guard a drug shipment.

In one of the recent encryption threads, someone asked if there had been any cases where police used their radios to abet a crime. Here is 1 case.

18 years? Not nearly enough. I have to laugh at agencies that "encrypt" or go digital. The relatively minisucle number of criminals that utilize scanners for facilitating thier activities really cant justify expense...and here, at least in this case...look inside befor eyou look out...

So much for the oath when it comes to big bucks right. Some much for having a radio id assigned to as well. Makes you really think about it.

Again, if you want to have or play with radios. Maybe there should be some type of permit. I be damed if some punks who get a hold of radios and then police or media or who ever blows things like this up so I can't have or do something I like to do.

I agree with the permit concept, but it still doesn't stop everything. Just prevents it from happening as much.
