Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone have an x36 Sentinel favorites list for the Marathon?

Add 477.0000 to list.
Temporary analog repeater set up on the day of the marathon by marathon officials. Analog operation, unknown PL/DPL. I've heard it in use in past years. I know this doesn't follow the UHF T-Band allocations for the Boston area.

Hello,

Total RF usually does the camera setups and video, but it has been a couple of years since I found their radio links.

There was a switch of Race Comms from Analog to DMR a couple of years ago. DC Rentals/All-Comm provides the radios. I have heard activity on the Ops talkgroup (Boston site), so last year's talkgroup list is likely valid. I was able to confirm most of the talkgroups last year.

Last Year's info:

Hopkinton Linked Capacity Plus

Boston Capacity Plus
451.7000 Color Code 13 Ch 1/2
461.6750 Color Code 13 Ch 3/4
463.5500 Color Code 13 Ch 5/6

220 Ops (confirmed 2016)
221 Medical Call-In (confirmed 2016)
222 Medical Division D (confirmed 2016)
231 Talkaround (confirmed 2016) (also used for medical resupply vans)
232 Boston Busing
233 Cavalier Busing

There is suppose to be a couple of simplex and conventional repeaters in use as well, but I could not find anything.

When the Media Crews used that portion of the T-Band Spectrum it was thru an FCC STA (Special Temporary Authorization) as

a. That part of T-Band is not used for LMR
b. Boston did not have a TV Station in that portion (T = TV in T-Band) of the band.
c. Media generally will use that portion of T-Band for Wireless/Parabolic MIC's

I have not seen an STA in a few years now 5+
So they have moved to other avenues, to include DMR

Add 477.0000 to list.

Do they conduct operations on BAPERN 3 & 4 as well. What are the state police analog channels? Are they in they in the 470mhz to 512 mhz range?

Yes as well as the Regionals. BAPERN 2, NEMLEC etc

MEMA and the State SWIC issue an ICS-205 indicating what channel is assigned to specific Operations.

ie; EOD, Escorts-East, Escorts-West, what channels are patched together etc
into the 700/800 TRS

There is NOT "ONE" Frequency, and generally the Operations occur on the Normal Mutual Aid Channels.

BAPERN, Metro Fire, MSP SOPS,MEMA, MSP LPS, MSPEvents,VTAC/UTAC/8TACs patched as needed. These are frequencies that are also used as part of the normal mutual aid plans.

Plug in the normal channels as listed in the RRDB and for those wanting more in-depth descriptions, what is available in the SNE Wiki

Does anyone know who is going to be operating as the Command Post and what the frequency would be?

Last week I was in the Copley Square Area and saw an Industrial Communications truck driving off of the square so I assume they may be providing some sort of communications support, but the DC Rentals trailer is on the square now as well.

Hello,

I have seen comments in the past that the ICS-205 for Marathon Public Safety is over five pages long. Law Enforcement in the Boston area will link Interop frequencies on different bands together for events, but there will be a number of active frequencies and talkgroups.

ALL-COMM has been busy this week setting up the communications. They have mainly been on the Ops channel (Boston site). I was surprised I could get the Hopkinton site using my BCD436HP/SRH77CA combo outside in Watertown. They were testing on the Start Area TG, so another one confirmed.

You are Correct on the length of some 205's that are created
Pages, after Pages, broken down by Services and/or Functions

I've been on events where there are 205's for Police, then Fire, Then EMS, Then EMA
then integrated 205's and then broken down for Tactical, Logistics etc

On the All-Comm system, TG 215 doesn't seem to be previously identified, I heard a brief transmission likely related to the 5k stating that, "The race is over, medical tents can come in."

Hello,

All-Comm did quite a bit of testing over the past few days. I was able to confirm some more channels and change a couple of descriptions based on what the channel was called.
