Boston PD - What's after channel 13?

This sounds like a dumb question, but I don't think the answer is "Channel 14."

I've been listening on 13 a bit, and sometimes a unit will ask another officer to go up a channel. I've followed them to 14, assuming that was the next channel, but never heard them there. Channel 14 is the "Interagency Operations" channel according to every lineup I've found, which doesn't seem like a logical place for them to go. SNE also suggests that 14 is patched to the Boston municipal trunk, which doesn't make sense for how they're using it.

Are they using Channel 14 simplex, handheld? Or do they have a different channel lineup? Has anyone ever found what channel they're referencing?

Try listening to channel 7 when they say "go up". It's a generic statement that means go to the citywide talkaround channel.
