For those who have this receiver, would like recommendations for using it. Been using my R30 to hold me over for HF. Had a IC 705, Yaesu 891 in the past but sold them. Was going to buy the 7300 but not in the budget now with Christmas around the corner. 13 grand kids are expensive. Have google searched software but don't recognize the recommended software. Any tips appreciated. Thanks.

The IC-R75 is a bit long in the tooth, being manufactured from ~1999 to ~2015.

ICOM offered its own Windows 95/98 control software back when but I doubt it would run within the current flavors of Windows. As I recall it wouldn't run in Windows XP.

Sorry.

For grins, read my review of the receiver that I wrote for Radio Netherlands' Media Network:

I looked at that list and didn't recognize any. Will start looking them and see if I can find one that will work for me. Thanks again.

I use the Commander for my Icom R7000 receiver and it works a treat - you do have to make or buy the CIV interface. I made my interface for a little Yaesu VX2 handheld but with the addition of another 3.5mm plug it works with the R7000.

The R75 is a fine receiver. I've had one for many years, bought a R8600 but could not part with my R75 so I still have it. Your R75 will provide many years of good use. There is a paper written called "Phil's R75 Cookbook" that I refer to for tips. Sorry I don't know who Phil is but he deserves a lot of credit for compiling this. See attached.

We have several apps listed here...

Mike
More than a few broken links <sigh>. The full-feature IC-R75 control software packages seem to have been tossed into the bit bucket.

But then the receiver is generations old and manufacturers are not making consumer-grade tabletop receivers these days. A heavy portable or an SDR plugged into a r.f. noisebox (a PC) or an amateur radio transceiver are the choices.

I miss my JRCs. :(

If you're talking about the software section, all the links are good (except for the tk75 llink). Check your firewall....Mike

Thanks - I had an old link that was giving me a phishing warning in chrome - no doubt because it didn't use the https://

I'll fix this...Mike

I miss my R-75 Tom... may it rest in peace, had one of the first ones and had to install the DSP myself. As per our recent QSO, it's slim pickens for a good table top with the options we need, as you know I'm in the market and I appreciated your input. 73s
