BOULDER COUNTY – An 18-year-old man drowned on Wednesday night after he went under while swimming with friends.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says it happened in the Lake Valley subdivision at a popular swimming beach.

The man was under the water for about 30 minutes before a dive team reached him.

His body was found about 100 to 150 feet from show in 14 foot water in tall seaweed.
