From the Daily Camera:

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office and the Colorado State Patrol are investigating a single-vehicle rollover accident that happened at about 3 p.m. Saturday along Boulder Canyon Drive in the area of Boulder Falls.

The Colorado State Patrol confirmed one person has died at the scene and the sewage truck that rolled is leaking raw sewage. Hazardous materials teams and State Patrol investigators are heading to the scene.

According to police radio traffic, hazardous materials have spilled into Boulder Creek.

Highway 119 (Boulder Canyon Drive) was closed in both directions for about an hour. One lane is now open as a hazardous materials crew cleans up the area.

A woman who answered the phone at the Golden-based Columbia Sanitary Services said the truck involved in the accident was owned by the company.

Denny Nessler, chief operating officer for the company, is en route to the scene, she said.

"We just found out about this," the woman said. "We're a little upset right now."

The driver killed in yesterday's crash in Boulder Canyon has been identified as 41-year old Randy Snyder of Erie, Colorado. Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene when the tanker truck he was driving failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the road and struck a mountainside, several trees and then rolled over. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
