I turned around on that spot during my afternoon run yesterday!

But I sympathize. Many times I've wanted to run away screaming and cussing after a bad landing.....

That's right, he contacted FAA and agreed to meet investigators and then pick up his plane.

That's a heck of a run from Fort Collins .

I'm on vacation and may finally tour the brewery up there. Does anyone have any
info on their radio system? I did check the Wiki & database. I also checked the
AB Brewery in St. Louis and a member stated that is was a MOTO trunked system,
but all encrypted.

Sorry guys. While I love a good deathmarch, it was an after-work run. I work in Boulder. The run is a 5 miler if I turnaround in the newly created runway runoff area.

I looked at the photos and used Google Maps streetview to find the 35 mph sign's pre-crash location.
That was QUITE the off-runway excursion!

I expect the story on the pilot will change from "no license" to "no valid medical certificate."

It's a not-uncommon issue for older pilots who've been flying for years and are invested in a nice airplane to be unwilling to suddenly drop flying because a doctor says so. At least this time no one was killed.
