(CBS4) LOUISVILLE, Colo. The Boulder Turnpike was closed at the McCaslin Exit in Louisville Saturday afternoon after an accident that involved at least a dozen cars, the Colorado Department of Transportation reported.
The Colorado State Patrol said there were reports of whiteout conditions along U.S. Highway 36 at the scene, which made it hard to know exactly how many cars were involved. There were reports of as many as 40 vehicles involved, although the state patrol could not confirm that.
There were no reports on injuries.
Highway officials also closed Interstate 25 from mile markers 60 to 64 in southern Colorado. Adverse conditions had led to accidents and the road's closure in both directions in that area of Huerfano County.
CDOT also closed Colo. Highway 93 south of Boulder Saturday morning because of high winds, blowing snow and poor visibility. Several accidents were reported. Hwy. 93 was reopened after noon.
