Yeah, I'm listening to Boyd and they requested a victim's advocate. :(

This makes the third or fourth I know of in 11 years I lived in Loveland where someone lost their life at Boyd.

Now how does one drown? If you can't swim, wear a life jacket!

Actually, you should wear one all the time!

Just heard 4 advocates in route!

Boyd Lake drowning victim identified as

21-year-old Evans man

Loveland Reporter-Herald
A 21-year-old Evans man drowned Saturday afternoon while swimming at Boyd Lake.

Omar Felix was swimming with family members and friends at the state park in east Loveland, according to press releases from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and Larimer County Coroner’s Office.

Felix reportedly was swimming just off the swim beach near the buoys when he began to struggle and disappeared underwater.

Loveland police received a call at 12:06 p.m. about a possible drowning. The Loveland Dive Rescue team arrived on scene at 12:13 and found him in six feet of water at 12:48, according to Deputy Fire Marshal Scott Pringle.

When Felix was pulled to the surface, he wasn’t breathing and had no pulse, Pringle said. He was taken to McKee Medical Center in Loveland, where he was pronounced dead at 1:36 p.m., according to the Coroner’s Office.

Coroner’s investigators don’t believe alcohol or drugs were involved. Deputy Coroner Dr. Michael F. Arnall ruled that Felix died of accidental drowning.

Must of went out too far???

Back stroke!

Though I wonder if he got got in something? Doubtful, I go there all the time. No weeds straight ahead at the swim beach. There are some however to the very far right and left.
