BPR40 Speaker Mic Question

I am a regular volunteer at my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore and we use BPR40 UHF radios. I was thinking about getting me my own speaker mic to make radio use more convenient. I came across a website(I can no longer find) that listed various models of mics that would work with that radio. I came across one that is part number HMN9030A that was reasonably priced, but I wanted to make sure it would work before purchasing. Which leads me to a few questions: Will that mic work for that radio? and Would it be possible to use any dual plug speaker mic for that radio? If the answer is no to either of those questions, could someone provide me with models/part numbers that would be compatible? I came across a HMN9030A on eBay for reasonable, but it says it is for VHF, that doesn't make a difference does it? I would be most likely shopping on eBay, unless someone from this forum has a speaker mic that is compatible for the right price. Thanks.

I went through quite a few cheapie speaker mics and they all failed. Finally I bought a genuine Motorola MAG ONE speaker mic, and it has lasted two years now. I bought a second one to keep in the go bag.

Skip the clones. Skip the crap chinese lookalikes. If you can find a genuine HMN9030, fine. Otherwise, get a genuine Motorola MAG ONE mic. Wiscomm has them for $29.99 Motorola OEM PMMN4092A PMMN4092 - Motorola REMOTE SPEAKER MIC, MAG ONE - CP200d | eBay

Part numbers PMMN4008, PMMN4077, and PMMN4092 will all work just fine on your radio.

No, speaker mics for low tier radios are not VHF or UHF specific.

Any of the moto 2 pin's will work fine. I'd definitely get a Motorola brand name mic. The knock offs are usually junk.

Thanks for the replies. I looked at a few cheap Chinese look-a-likes but would never consider purchasing one. I would only purchase an OEM mic because I know they will provide the best performance and last the longest. The HMN9030 I'm looking at is a genuine Motorola one. I will keep all those part numbers in mind when browsing but I'll most likely stick with the 9030 as it's the most inexpensive of them all. I also didn't think it mattered if it was used on a UHF or VHF radio. Now is there any specific model that will work better than another or any that absolutely will not work?
