Uniden only lists for the latest firmware V 1.01.05
Changes step and modulation for 225-400MHz(Military Air) as,
225.0000-379.9750 : 25.0kHz/AM
380.0000-399.9875 : 12.5kHz/NFM

Has anyone noticed if anything else important has changed with this firmware that they do not list. I am not ecouraged to do it since it really does not help with Aviation scanning. It works better to setup a Custom Search with 25KHz steps and AM mode in the entire 225-400 MHz range since there are many aviation comms even on 380-400. Satellite monitoring in that range would rarely be in the clear. Ground comms with manpack radios would be very short range and most listeners would never be near enough to receive them. Even those are often encrypted.

It would make more sense to change it to 25KHz AM default for the entire range which is what it gets used most for.

Is there anything else that makes this firmware useful?

The only change is what is listed. If it works well for you then leave it as it is.

Yep! That is the attitude I have taken. Leave it alone. That change was hardly worth a firmware revision if that is all it does. I was not concerned about the 225-400 change really since a custom search solves it, but sometimes a manufacturer does not list some changes. That was true for a digital camera I have. The firmware on that camera improved some image quality issues that the manufacturer did not list, but too many users noticed the change for it to be imagined.
