BR330T Signal Choppy While Driving

I have a tri-band magnet-mount antenna on the roof of my Suburban and I'm getting signal chop on some of the frequencies when driving. I'm assuming it's typical but I'm just asking just incase there's a better antenna for driving. Is this also typical of mobile scanners that install directly into the vehicle or is it inherent of all scanners? What's different in the way a scanner picks up signals versus police, EMT or even some maintenance company radios?

Yes, depending on terrain and the freqs you are using, a certain amount of chop is going to happen. Which antenna are you using? And what freq ranges are you monitoring? 73 Mike

Mainly this system in the 800MHz range:
Knoxville/Knox County Public Safety Trunking System, Knoxville, Tennessee - Scanner Frequencies

Using this antenna although not from the UK. I bought it here in the states a few years ago:

google "Rayleigh fading" for whats making the choppiness occur while moving, hope that helps.
