Just got my first SW radio in the mail today. It's a Kaito 1103. So far it seems to work pretty well with just a portable reel antenna draped over a kitchen curtain rod. I do have one question though. What would I be able to pick up on the SSB? Seems like everything I found was on AM. Thanks for any info.

Hams will be the majority of the ssb traffic, then aeronautical comms, and weather reports. All are easy catches. Military traffic is pretty easy to catch on the known channels. Pirates will be around 6925 khz. Fishing fleets are all over the place, not just marine channels. Freeband cbers will be anywhere above 26 mhz. There is free software to decode the digital modes, most of those are in ssb. Good luck and good dx!
