I'm up and running with my PSR800 (love it) thanks to this forum.

Can anyone tell me what the terms that i'm hearing on the arlington county police system mean? I've heard BAKER and CHARLEY, ADAM and ECHO. I'm assuming thats ABCDE. Is there a map that coorisponds to that alphabetical system? some sort of Zone system? I've also heard someone mention STRIKER. What is striker?

THANKS RR!

Here is a nice chart you can use for the alphabet.
Military Phonetic Alphabet

It is just a phonetic alphabet. Most all PD and FD use them extensively.

Arlington PD may have zones they use and designate by the alphabet. Every department is different.

Never heard of Striker but sounds like maybe a SWAT type equipment/vehicle or a K9 unit.
