Heard TxDOT EOC trying to contact TxDOT Bryan yesterday on the TxDOT EOC channel. No response, though. Oh, and in case you're wondering about Texas Task Force 1, there has been no activity on the GCI channels here.

Caught TGID 1238 yesterday evening. It was on Site 122. It seemed to sound like some sort of TxDOT TGID.

Thanks for that. I should mention that the TGID I mentioned in my previous post was for Bay City VFD.

I guess site 1-023 is still yet unidentified. I suspect this might be Millican. No one has reported this site up yet. Licensed freqs for Millican site are 770.01875, 770.60625, 771.04375, 771.46875 and 772.66875.
Tower is located less than a mile down Kathy Fleming Rd which runs NW out of Millican. This is the same tower that houses the conventional repeater 851.750 that repeats TG 25008 BCSO Primary for extended coverage in that low spot (called South Tower).

You are correct. Site 123 is indeed the Millican tower. It's been up for probably a week now, but the CC is so faint up here in Bryan that my scanners only ocassionally pick it up. The CC is 772.66875. In fact, I was just about to post that I found it.

I guess if I would have turned on the scanner this weekend I would have heard that. I was only really home Sunday though. That is good. It makes three 1A7 towers I can hear sitting at home in Navasota.

There hasn't been alot of traffic on the site, though (as far as I can tell). I was alerted to its existence when I noticed I was hearing MCSO 1 on my 396XT (which has been monitoring the site in anticipation that it would eventually become active) and not on any of my other scanners. It's very difficult to get up here in Bryan (even though I live about two miles north of the College Station city line). The site has probably been up for a while now, because I noticed that for the past two or so weeks my 396XT was dwelling on the site longer than normal even though it did not indicate it was receiving a CC.

I submitted the site to be entered into the TxWARN P25 DB page a few minutes ago.

Brenham Fire now on TxWARN P25

I just confirmed that TGID 2516 is for Brenham Fire. Heard some radio testing yesterday and some Brenham Fire units talking to each other. Not much activity today, and there hasn't been any calls being dispatched.

TAMU UPD/EMS on TxWARN P25

As of yesterday, UPD and TAMU EMS switched all operations to TxWARN. The TGs for them on the TAMU TRS seem to be no longer in use. It appears that all traffic is being simulcasted on 121, 122, 123, and 127.

Cool. Will be back in town one more week to watch the movers pack and move my stuff off to Shreveport. Should have some extra time to do some listening. I will try to park my scanner on the Brenham site since you have the BCS towers covered.

I'm just guessing on the 123 site. I have only received that site intermittently, so I'm not entirely sure about it. TAMU seems to be the first local agency here to make the switch, but I'm not sure when the rest of the area will follow. I have a friend whose dad is a Brazos County SO deputy, and he said that there have been no discussions about a switchover...yet. The radio testing has all but stopped since the UPD switchover, so I doubt anything is going to happen in the immediate future.

Just FYI...this is my 1000th post!

Heard 5xx units on the Brenham Fire TG yesterday. Sounded like they were working some kind of special event. Since I am not really that familiar with Washington County unit IDs, anyone know who they are?

Unless they changed their fire unit numbering scheme, that doesn't match up with anything I know. Sheriff deputies are 2XX, Brenham PD is 31XX, maybe 32XX also. Fire units were 86XX to 98XX last I checked. I think Brenham was 95XX, so its possible they might be BFD units dropping the 9000 designator.

That's sort of what I thought. They seem to be using it as some sort of back channel.

Thursday night, I heard what I believed to be Madisonville Police using 154.950 with a 141.3 PL for dispatch. Didn't hear them on the SO channel during my drive through. I would have to hear this on a regular basis, or get outside confirmation that it is in regular use before I update the database.

Interesting. I can get them pretty well in Huntsville, so when I start classes on Thursday, I'll check that out. TAMU PD and EMS now are completely on TxWARN, and I heard some techs talking on TGIDs 2394 and 2396. One of them said on 2394 "Go ahead on BVWACS radio test channel". It appears that they are still intent on calling the TxWARN sites in Brazos County "BVWACS". Thus, I labled them as "BVWACS TEST-A" and "BVWACS TEST-B" respectively. I also discovered that 3946 is TAMU EMS TALK and 3957 is TAMU PD TALK.

Next week or the following College Station FD will be moving to the new 700 system. All the mobile radios were programed yesterday and new handhelds will be issued the day of the switch.

Haven't found any new, unidentified TGIDs yet. I did hear some discussion about radio installations on TGID 2355 last week, but haven't heard anything since. Any idea when CSPD will follow, or will they both switch at the same time? Also, are the public works going to stay on the current system?

Nothing has currently been happening as far as Bryan and Brazos County goes. A friend of mine who's dad is a deputy says there has been no talk about new radios or any major radio changes yet. As far as I can tell, nothing will change any time in the near future.
