CSFD is working on a simplex repeater system for fireground ops. It is our talk around channel now but a new simplex 800 feq will be used that can be repeated to the BVWACS system. The repeaters will be on all front line engines, ladders, medics, and command units. The repeaters repeat back to the BVWACS on whatever channel the truck mobile radio is set that way the audio can be monitored around the city in dispatch and recorded.

We have had some close calls related to poor radio system coverage in the past few years. We have had great success so far with the testing of the simplex system.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but have they actually spoken on those channels? All I've heard is a bunch of beeping.

Thanks

When programming Brazos County P25 (sheriff etc) what site (towers) should be used? Bryan, College Station, Millican?

I programmed Bryan (police, fire) already and that I know is the Bryan Site (towers) but wasn't sure about Brazos County.

Brazos county sites

I've used all three in my scanner as the frequencies weren't the same and depending on which one will get a better signal for your location.

I'm in College Station. I guess Brazos Co Sheriff etc can and do broadcast on all those towers?

License granted over Christmas - WRAK928:

Will be for TXWARN P25 as it is registered to BVCOG.

Anderson, TX - GCSO Tower behind jail.

769.56875
769.61875
770.78125
771.26875
771.30625
772.30625

Might want to program that one into your scanners and start listening for a new site to come on line. I don't know what that means for Grimes/Navasota users, if anything at all. But at least that fills in the communication gap across the county for Brazos county to Walker/Montgomery travelers if nothing else.

There are 2 sites almost ready to go active, the one behind the sheriffs office, and another in the north part of the county. All Grimes county law, fire, and EMS will be on the system in the first quarter of 2018. BVCOG and The City of Bryan gave about 200 radios to Grimes county to get them going.

Sounds awesome. Hope they stay in the clear!
