Looks like the Automated dispatch has come to Brentwood. hearing it this morning. how long has BFD been doing this?

In my opinion, the more interesting question is why would it be needed for such a small city?
Locution is planned to be implemented systemwide from what I gather for the Metro P25 AKA the base for the future Central TN RTRS, which then will become an big TACN cell. Even for smaller agencies, it is beneficial. Especially if there are future plans for consolidation of dispatch centers, which is the trend nationwide. Expect implementation in Sumner County once they get the new ECC online, and go over to TACN.

They've been using it off and on for quite some time now, you can still hear a live person dispatching sometimes though.
Live dispatching is for training, and for when they take Locution down for any issues. We do same here for the many agencies using it in IN.
Locution has been used in Central NC for many years...both Wake & Durham Counties use it for FD & EMS alerting.....I now actually prefer it as it is the same voice everytime with little chance for confusion.
