Dedicated listeners of my Brevard County feeds,

I will be taking the server down probably this evening through the weekend to move the feed to a dedicated machine. Regrettably this downtime is unavoidable in order to bring you more uptime on the feeds. The Windows Media feed is already offline. I will post an update in this thread to let everyone know when it's back up.

Lets put it this way - the "new" server will not be used for ANYTHING ELSE, to the point where it will not have a monitor, keyboard or mouse attached to it. The only means of even seeing the screen will be via terminal services, so, there will be no chances of me knocking it offline because of something else I need to do on the computer.

Lately I have been engaging in some CPU and RAM intensive operations on the current PC that is hosting the feed, which is also my main desktop machine, which has caused me to have to take the servers "off the air".

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Both Proscan and Windows Media feeds are back online - this was a pretty seamless transition!

Please be aware that until I load test this server for the next couple of days it may go up/down without notice. I will have it back online ASAP if I have to take it down though.

Audio quality seems to be top notch , but, I can only hear so much since I am testing it using an in-house netbook PC with rather limited speakers!

Any feedback on the audio quality is appreciated!

ALSO - I ***MAY*** be bringing my Fire/EMS feed back! It all depends on whether or not I can find a replacement for my BC785D that I am using in my truck. If I do, I will be moving the 785D back into the house and onto the new server on ProScan.

Sorry folks - it is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that until I have another job, I can't keep the feed online. I'm pinching every penny right now because between my getting laid off and now my wife moving out, I am so broke that I can't pay attention :)

Having another computer online 24/7 doesn't cost a lot, but, every penny is valuable right now. I don't want any shocks when the electric bill comes in.

I'll post a new thread if/when I can bring it back. Thanks everyone for understanding.

WOW - I can't win!

A few weeks back I had to take the feed down because I thought I was losing my last hard drive in the server. Turns out it was the power supply. Now I can't get the thing to even take a load of an OS without blue-screen crashing. It's not the hard drives, it's not the memory, so that leaves the CPU and the motherboard.

At this point I have to weigh two options - either 1) host it off of one of my laptops (which really isn't a good option) or 2) keep it offline until I can pick up an inexpensive but yet fairly decent desktop machine to host the feed off of again. This is my last desktop machine that I had, so, I have no spares just laying around.

Sorry everyone :-(

I couldnt have done if it one of my listeners hadn't donated a machine for me to serve the feed from!
