So today on my ride home from work, I got stopped for a "click-it or ticket" campaign with the officer hiding in the bushes at the u-turn for GSP exit 91. I got nailed without a seat belt, but luckily I got a warning. However, when talking to the officer, I noticed he had a newer radio. It is the same Motorola digital radios that Toms River Police have. I remember talking to a detective from Brick a few months ago, and he said they had the new radios. Now it looks like they are rolling them out to the regular traffic and patrol units. Interesting, I guess the P25 system is on its' way.

OK thats it....! If one more dept.goes to digital,I'm not gonna move down to Ocean County.
I'll remain up here where they are just "testing the waters" with repeaters.

If the Sheriff dept goes digital that's 9 more pd's and the sheriff that will be added to the list in Ocean County.

In that case I hope they ALL go digital. Now look up "bennie" in the on line Urban Dictionary. (;->)

If you think about it, it only makes sense from an interoperability standpoint. They are bordered by Toms River and Lakewood, both of which use P25 digital.

Even if they are not willing or able from a budgetary standpoint to buy the digital infrastructure it makes sense as portables reach their EOL to replace them with digital capable radios.
