write up today in the connecticut post on the dispatch center. no longer will we be listening to the police.
alot of changes in the spring or summer.

yeah george, ya beat me to it. but from the wording it indicates just police calls. we'll see what happens and keep our fingers crossed.

I read it as police-only as well:
In addition to improving the speed and efficiency of dispatching, the center's digital and encryption technology ends a tradition of listening to police broadcasts on scanners.

i worked the f.d for 25 yrs. all we had was radio problems. dispatcher couldnt hear us calling
from over the boston ave hill or way out in the westside. they then went to voter boxes. which
didnt work. lets see what happens now. with all the money being spent hopefully it will work better.
