Does anyone know the status of the Bridgeport tower? I no longer can receive the control channel and have also tried the secondary frequency without success. I live within six miles of the tower and it has been off the air for the last three or four days.

I am wondering if the control channel frequency has been changed but have not read or heard anything to that effect. I still hear activity on the nearby Hemlock tower so I know the Pro-96 is working properly.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Check the other licensed frequencies for the tower. I'm not close enough to get a read with Pro96Com on one of it's neighbors.

Another thing to do, that happens occasionally, is to listen to the primary control channel frequency for at least a minute. On occasion the transmitter will develope an issue that is not easily detected at the NOC. When this happens, you'll pick up a few seconds of control channel, and then silence. It seems to repeat about once every minute.

You may end up having a hard time with that tower. There is talk of closing the Dispatch Center in Bridgeport and moving it north....

That wouldn't necessarily have anything to do with the tower. The Towers aren't generally tied to any particulat agency.

Ok, but moving a tower is a major undertaking, and would be unlikely. Coverage for the entire system may be compromised in that region if it is moved. The Dispatch center may move, but the likelyhood that the tower would be moved would be quite low...
