Bristol, RI Police Digital?

It seems as though Bristol, RI Police 155.130 has gone digital. Does anyone have any info on this? not sure what mode.

Are we the only ones in Bristol concerned about this shift?
After 60+ years of transmitting in the clear, Bristol now feels the need to
encrypt all comms. I feel the dispatch analog should be in the clear.
Any undercover/drug enforcement/ surveillance ops can be encrypted.
Shifting between encrypted and clear can be accomplished easily. See
you at the Evereadys !!

I agree.

I dont care that they are now DMR, it sucks that they are encrypted. Let dispatch be in the clear and encrypt everything else.

Noted that Smithfield PD, Cumberland PD, Barrington PD, Fall River PD, and others still
transmit dispatch in the clear (analog). Providence PD and others using the state RISCON (P25) also
transmit dispatch in the clear but digitally using P25 format. They are copyable with a P25
scanner.
The Fire Department are like orphans now. Coordination now has to come thru Fire dispatch.
I wonder how Warren PD and FD do it.

When I worked the 4th of July parade Bristol PD was using RISCON on an encrypted TG. Im not sure if they have switched to it or if they were using event radios from EMA. Bristol Fire also had RISCON radios....could be the same....event radios from EMA.
