I am on the fence about which to broadcast.

I have two options:

Our communications uses a P25 System for dispatch and firegrounds, as well as law enforcement. The Fire and EMS talkgroups are simulcast on analog VHF. The P25 system is VHF simulcast, and as we know it can create issues.

Option 1)
Broadcast the following:

Fire Disp(P25)
EMS Disp(P25)
Fire Ops 3-9 (P25)
TAC 10-14 (P25)
County Wide (P25)

PROS:
Clear Digital Audio
All on the same system
Close to tower

CONS:
No Tone Paging
Occasional simulcast distortion(all audio is distorted to the point it is not audible)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Option 2)
Broadcast:

Fire paging channel(Analog, simulcast from Fire Disp P25)
EMS Paging channel(Analog, simulcast from EMS DISP P25)
Fire Ops 3-9 (P25)
TAC 10-14 (P25)
County Wide (P25)

PROS:
Tone Paging
No simulcast distortion
Close to tower(analog paging and P25 sites are the same)
Same coverage as the P25 counterpart

CONS:
Slight hum in analog audio
Scanner has to switch between P25 and analog constantly, slowing it down

If anyone knows how to get rid of the hum my personal opinion would be to go with option 2, however I'm not the one listening to my feed so I want to see what the community wants.

I have a PRO-197 with a RS VHF collapsible antenna. I have the stock PRO-197 antenna as well. I also have a UHF antenna that I sometimes use to attenuate the VHF signal, getting rid of some of the multipath that comes with a simulcast system.

Thanks
