Just curious to how the Calls function knowns if a node is on or offline. Using SDR Truck I am feeding 2 different Calls nodes as well as to the standard Broadcastify relay servers. I lowered the offline time to 15 minutes, because i want to know right away when theres an issue. The problem I am seeing is just one of the Calls Node keeps reporting offline despite being online on the other node and stream. The question is, does calls use a heartbeat to know if a node is online or is it strictly looking at the last time a message was sent. In one of my nodes it could be several hours between calls on a quiet night.

The Calls platform is not connected to the server 24/7 unlike a traditional BCFY feed. It only connects and uploads to the server when there is radio traffic. If you are monitoring a slow system where there is no traffic for over 15 minutes, it will send you an email. You will need to increase your notification time if you do not want emails.

I had the same question as I monitor a busy system but in the middle of the night during certain times of the year, there would be no radio traffic for 15-30 minutes and I would receive an email. I increased my notification time to 30 minutes. I still get emails on occasion but not as often.
