Hi guys!
I am trying to set the delay on Soniflex to broadcast my channels on a 15- min delay, but cannot figure it out. Now, I'm not a techy.... I'm learning as I go, so please be patient and if you don't mind, explain it to me like I'm 8 y/o!
Thanks a million in advance!

This might be worth a read (unless, of course, you already have permission) .....

Feed Delays: Feed broadcasters are prohibited from implementing any user defined delays on their broadcasts unless they have the written approval from the Broadcastify administration staff. Written approval for feed delays are typically only granted to official feed providers.

From the "Feed Provider Terms of Service - What can and cannot be broadcast" page at this link:

Assuming you are using a Sonifex PS-SEND streaming encoder for your feed, bulk delay is not a feature of this device. There's delay settings in this box to account for network jitter, but that's less than 1 second of delay.

The Sonifex solution is to put a RB-DS2 Delay between the audio source & the streaming encoder. A 16 GB CF card inserted in this delay provides hours of delay.

I have official feeds. I had the delay set once before... I'm just having trouble with the calculations. I need to figure out whether to set it to meters and/ or frames... etc.

Sounds like you have a RB-DS2, it would be helpful to actually list the model number of your equipment, Sonifex makes dozens of different devices.

If you want 15 minutes of delay then set 'delay units' to 'time' and set the delay to 00:15:00. 'Mode' must be set to 'extended' & a working CF card needs installed to get more than 64 seconds of delay.

I'm proud of you for getting this done.
I don't know if you're being sincere or sarcastic, so... thanks? haha!
We're still battling it!
We don't need an additional memory card. I know this to be true because we had the delay set to 15 once before without it. It has something to do with configuring the settings in frames and meters and converting them.
I can promise that once it's figured out, I will share with anyone who may be in the same predicament, and! I will be laminating the instructions! haha!

It has something to do with configuring the settings in frames and meters and converting them.

Frames per second (FPS), Sonifex default FPS is 25: 25 [frames/sec] x 60 [sec/min] x 15 [min] = 22,500 frames

Meters, using nominal speed of sound at 343.371 m/s: 343.371 [m/s] x 60 [sec/min] x 15 [min] = 309,033.9 meters
