Has anyone else heard the rumor that Broken Arrow is going to put in a MA COM OpenSky system?

No, that's news to me? Where did you hear that? If this is true wonder why they would need that? Kinda overkill isn't it?

All it is a this point in time is a rumor. I heard it from a BA Firefighter who probably would not have know the terms MA COM and OpenSky if someone had not told him. I did some searching and could not find any info about it. Probably a future thing they are looking at.

Yeah I was gonna say that MA Com and Opensky are 2 totaly different things. I wouldn't worry about it. People hear rumors for years and spread them well before a system chosen to change.

One way to find out is to watch the B.A. City Council agendas. They don't archive them, but you could keep an eye on what's coming up.

Thanks for the education guys, I was not aware other the specifics of Opensky.

I heard from a reliable source tonight that BAFD and BAPD are for sure going to Opensky. He said that the other users on the system like DPW would remain in analog. He did not say when this would take place but soon. Bad news is that there is no scanner on the market right now that can monitor Opensky. Sorry BA listeners. Enjoy it while you can.
