Besides easily buying a new one for a pittance of $4.00, is there any quick way to fix this broken antenna other than soldering? Using scotch tape for now which works just fine and reception is unaffected. Just thought somebody may have some clever quickie antenna fix.
It bent and snapped in the upper, thinner antenna area.

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all.

Quick Fix

Cut a peice of metal coat hanger.
Cut a peice of solid copper wire.

Stick either one in the portion still attached to the scanner. If the old broken part is too small to fit over the end of the wire, curl the end or wrap it with some kind of tape. You don't want to poke an eye out with it.

Back in the day when scanners didn't come with antennas we would sell more scanners that we could get antennas. I made many freebies with motorala plugs and coat hangers. I don't think anyone ever came back to buy the stocked packaged ones.
