Well not me, but one of my co-workers dropped his BCT15 and broke the display, it lights up and the scanner scans and receives fine but he can't see anything. Question is, are the displays easy to replace, and are parts availible, or should I have him send it in for repair? Thanks guys.

The parts may, be available I haven't looked at mine but it really depends on how much experience a person has with working on electronics and, there may be soldering involved. If he's not experienced at all, he might consider sending it in for repair. Not sure if their flat rate is 50 or $80.00. good luck!

Flat rate does not include parts.

The ribbon cable probably came loose when the radio was dropped. I would have checked that first before sending it in. Might save a trip to Uniden.

FWIW
