Broken Scroll Control

Yesterday, the scroll control on my 536 broke. The knob will now only turn a few clicks, then it is frozen. Anyone encounter this before?
Can Uniden repair this?

Yes, I had that happen on one of my 536s. Uniden can fix it. If your scanner is in warranty, they will cover it. If not, you'll have to pay the regular repair rate. When you send it in, they will also do the RTC and LED repairs if they haven't been done previously.

This happened in the extreme cold the other day. The scanner is mounted in my truck.

The one with the scroll knob issue was in my house. The one in my truck hasn't had that, even on the coldest of days.

I've got one that jumps all over the place. Makes it hard to do anything.

Now that I've got one back from Uniden, time to send this one in.

I just gave it a burst of contact cleaner and it was as new again and before that it had became extremly erratic going the wrong direction and sometimes doing nothing when turned a click.

I would try blowing that out like someone suggested, as I have had customers that it has worked on, otherwise repair can take care of that as well.

Well, I sent my radio to Uniden on Feb 3. I received an email Feb 7 that the radio was received. So far, nothing. I checked the repair status and all it says is that the radio was received. I wonder if there is a problem, or does repair usually take this long?
