Hello I’m trying to get my sds200 to listen in on the Maritime Public Saftey Radio Network (MPSRN) for PEI in Atlantic Canada. I can receive infrastructure and public works and fire dispatch but I’m not receiving the federal or municipal police forces. The scanner is picking it up the signal is strong on these police frequencies but no sound once scanner moves on it receives everything else just fine except for the broken sound on some channels. What am I missing that I’m not hearing these systems. PEI RCMP and PEI municipal police ? Any info. I would appreciate. Thank you.

Have you checked in the database to see if what you’re looking to listen to is encrypted or not? Do you have the correct service types enabled on the radio?

In the pict I posted under the Mode...
"DE" Digital and a capital "E" is full time encryption... A small e would be part time encryption...

Also the picture I posted is a clip from RadioReference's Canada Database...
You wont see that info shown in Sentinel's Database as to if it's encryted or not...

Hyperlink. 100% they are encrypted. Also what your describing is exactly how a scanner behaves on an encrypted services and TGs. You will often get a slight 1/4 second burst of 'voice like audio' then the unit will automute.

Good to know, I will get rid of those channels on my list. Thank you.

Thats in the MPSRN...
