From what I've heard from someone on the financial side, PD is going digital, same frequency. That's all I know, will try to find out more.

Wonder if it is going to be a P25 conventional or a trunked system
radioguy- I'm in lower Westchester County, NY and have been to Danbury, CT many times and their fire/police communications system needs updating big time. Totally analog too.
New Milford, CT does use P25 (And "E" too occasionally) and obviously has upgraded their system. Brookfield is just to the south on Rt.7 and what they call "Super 7"(Highway). But your guess is as good as mine.
I know the Danbury Fire Department Chief and will ask him what the plans are for Brookfield as they provide mutual aid for them and all other surrounding areas and then, I'll pass it along to everyone here.

Brookfield got some grant money, going to upgrade their fire and police system to digital. Danbury has no plan to change much, we do have TGs for CLMRN, but current they are not patched to the analog UHF system. That may happen sometime in the future.
New Milford PD is digital and encrypted. NMFD is not, nor do i think there is any plan to go digital quite yet.

bmeehan282, there was a period of time where Danbury FD was patched, and it was nice to be able to listen to them. Although I will say the quality of the patch was terrible. Maybe it was just experimental? Also, I had heard the FD uses the CLMRN for communication with the DEEP during lake incidents? I didn't realize Brookfield FD was going digital, it will be interesting to see how mutual aid communications turn out.

Danbury does have 3 TGs assigned. However currently we really don't use them. Our dispatch center is not on the State Core and unable to patch the UHF systems into the CLMRN. Troop A has the ability to patch our police UHF into the CLMRN, but rarely does that.
There is a move afoot to get the hardware to patch the UHF into the CLMRN.
We do have 800 radios in the command vehicle (Car 30), the Fireboat (34 Marine 1) and a couple of portables. During the spring/summer when the boat is in operation, we do collaborate with DEEP on their TG, which has worked out fairly well coordinating calls with DEEP EnCon Officers and Candlewood Lake Authority Officers. When there is a rescue incident on the lake you will more than likely hear traffic on the DEEP Lakes TG. On HazMat calls in our region you may also hear some coordination between DFD and DEEP Hazmat on the Spills TG.

I have no idea why NOBODY has responded to you.
Have a great Wednesday.
Yeah if only there was a website that had a whole database of everyone's radio frequencies, so people could go on there and find what they're looking for. Somebody should work on that......

195xxxx is a Region 5 radio, not a Brookfield purchased one. Region 5 issued radios to all the DPW directors in the Region for storm coordination. Seems to work decent. Tested in a roll call quarterly I believe.
Brookfield purchased radios would show up as 18xxxx RIDs.

Correct, I used to hear them testing before I changed my sds100/sds200 programming. I locked out a lot of crap on accident and haven't had time to update it lol.
I do need to redo my whole CLMRN list though

Talk about New Milford Fire and Ambulance switching over to digital has started very recently. If it will be a private system or on the CLMRN is yet to be decided.
