Hwy 7/Sheridan Blvd.-Inj Accident with C/G. Lifeguard 2 dropping off ptnt at Lutheran then heading to Hwy 7. Req. another engine and medic unit. Light extrication on one car, heavy extrication on another. NFI.

Broomfield Police closed Highway 7 for almost 6 hours to investigate a crash.

The accident happened Monday at 4:05 in the afternoon on State Highway 7 at Mountain View Boulevard.

Police said an SUV with 2 adults and 4 children bumped a Blue Cavalier driven by a 45 year-old man from Lafayette.

When the two hit, the Cavalier spun into oncoming traffic and was t-boned by a Pacifica.

The passenger side of the Cavalier was caved in almost all the way to the driver's seat. The Pacifica sustained heavy front end damage.

The driver of the Cavalier survived the crash, but sustained life threatening injuries.

I have found out that the driver of the Cavalier later died. Road rage might be to blame. The drive of the Cavalier was a best friend to one of my dads co-workers.
