A SWAT team found a man dead inside a Broomfield house early this morning after they had responded to reports of a heavily-armed man barricading himself inside his home.
The incident began as a domestic dispute, Sergeant Heidi Walts said. Broomfield police officers arrived at the 3300 block of W. 134th Avenue just before midnight on Thursday.
They were told a 40-year-old man had barricaded himself inside the home and had access to several weapons.
They evacuated the other residents and had the SWAT team respond.
SWAT team members tried to contact the man without success.
At about 2:20 a.m., they entered the home and found the man dead inside.
The cause of death is under investigation
