I was on scene of this accident. That intersection is 1 block NW of me. Basically there was a minivan that took a turn too fast and rolled. I don't believe anyone was restrained. Initial 911 calls of children's legs hanging out of the windows. FFL transported one to Childrens, and North Metro transported 3 code 3 to Good Sams.

Did anyone get an update on that child transported by FFL. It was sure hard to watch a young kid on a backboard being loaded onto a chopper. Anything anyone heard regarding that would be great! Thanks!

Child was stable awake and alert sounds like mainly flown for precaution.

Four injured in Broomfield crash

Camera staff report
Saturday, October 4, 2008

A two-car, rollover crash at the intersection of 144th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Broomfield around 11:30 a.m. Saturday left four people injured, officials said.

Broomfield police said Daniel Barrales, 22, was driving a van with his wife and two children when he ran a red light at the intersection.

The van clipped an oncoming SUV, officials said, and rolled onto its roof. No one in the SUV was hurt.

Barrales’ wife, whose name is being withheld by Broomfield police, was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The couple’s 5-month-old son was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Denver, said Wendy Forbes, spokeswoman for North Metro Fire Rescue.

A police spokeswoman said the couple’s 2-year-old daughter was taken to a hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. She said neither of the children’s injuries were life-threatening.

Barrales was arrested at the scene and booked into the Boulder County Jail on suspicion of careless driving resulting in injury and driving without a valid license. He was being held Saturday on $1,000 bond.
