Hey guys, was just listening to a suspicious device call in Miramar, and I was wondering if anyone knew off what channel BSO's bomb squad was dispatched on. Also, I know I asked it in another topic, but does anyone out there know information on Seminole Fire dispatch channels. There's channel on the Hollywood system info that says Seminole, but I've never heard any traffic on it. It just doesn't seem logical to me for a department in the Everglades to be using a radio system in Hollywood. Finally, anyone have a run-down on the district numbers and their corresponding locations in Broward County. Thanks a lot guys.

I noticed something else interesting last night. Just for the fun of it, I did an open scan (search) of the Broward Co system. I ended up hearing Hollywood PD talkgroups, but they were using the main Site 1 radio frequencies. Anyone have any idea if this normally happens, because I thought the Hollywood talkgroups were carried only on Site 2. Also, I know that the BSO helicopter goes over to the info channel when they're doing a law enforcement operation, anyone have the talkgroup for that? Thanks guys.
The Hollywood system is actually county site 3. Site 2 is Deerfield Beach. Yes, I have noticed that Hollywood PD east and PD west dispatch channels come up on the Broward "main" system, site 1. I don't know why this happens, but I notice that it's only the dispatch, I have not seen any other police or fire talkgroups appear on site 1. When dispatch appears, it's always on one of the five site 1 frequencies that's capable of digital mode, which on site 1, are the five highest frequencies in the system.
As for the BSO helicopter, what talkgroup are you refering to? I always thought they just switched to whatever talkgroup was being used by the ground forces for the part of the county they're in.

I was told awhile ago, that they switched to the BSO info channel. Also, that at all times they had one radio on FD north, and one on this info channel for being called to a fire or police incident. I don't know what this channel is, but I've heard FLPD say they're going over to the info channel when working with BSO, or when needing information on a BSO incident nearby. I have no idea what this channel is, and I haven't seen it as a talkgroup on the database, which is why I was asking. On the topic of Hollywood, should I program the Site 1 talkgroups into the bank with the Hollywood ones?
The BSO helicopter usually monitors fire/rescue north, 8208. I am not sure if the same helicopter is used for police operations and rescue operations, but the rescue monitors 8208, which is rescue north. When they are working a call, the dispatcher tells them to switch to whatever talkgroup is being used by the forces on the ground. For example, if they're going to do an airlift from Hallandale, the dispatcher might say "switch to south channel" and they do. If there is a mutual aid incident, they might say "switch to channel 12G" or whatever channel is being used at the incident.

Yea, I hear Air Rescue 85 do all their fire/EMS related calls on north and then switch to the appropriate talkgoup, like 12-H last night for the shooting in Coral Springs. I have a Pro-96 and listen to Hollywood Fire channels, but for that bank all I have is the site 3 frequencies, and none from site 1. I'm wondering if maybe if all frequencies are being used by the Hollywood talkgroups if maybe they then pick an available frequency from Site 1. I've heard of systems doing that before, such as with Orange County's Smartzone system. Thanks for the tip on the India channel, I'll program that in and see what goes on.

Thanks for the BSO numbers. Do you have the other ones as well. For example I know that Sea Ranch Lakes PD is "26 Bravo 3" etc, so they are 26. Do you happen to know the numbers for the other cities on BSO's dispatch channels. Thanks again.

Thats exactly what I was looking for, thanks. I was listening to talkgroup 4144 today, it's listed as TBA on the database. I heard unit such as 53 November, and a few Tango units on this channel. Anyone have an idea what it's used for?

No; Lighthouse Point PD is now dispatched by BSO on their north talkgroup, decimal 4400. They still have the 471.4625 frequency, but use it mostly for car to car and sometimes to run license tags.
